The Red Mahseer (Tor sinensis) is a large, powerful cyprinid native to rivers and streams in Southeast Asia, including parts of Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Known for its elongated, torpedo-shaped body and reddish to golden coloration, this fish is revered both as a sport fish and as an impressive display specimen in massive aquariums or ponds.

Mahseer are highly active swimmers that require enormous space, pristine water, and strong currents to thrive. This species is not suitable for standard home aquariums and is best kept by advanced aquarists or in public aquarium facilities.
