The Pinecone Pleco (Pseudorinelepis genibarbis), also known as the Pellegrini Pleco, is a heavily armored catfish from the river systems of South America. Its name comes from the distinctive raised, plate-like scutes covering its body, giving it a “pinecone” appearance.

Hardy and impressive, this species is well-suited for large aquariums and can adapt to a wide range of water conditions. While not a fast swimmer, it has a strong presence in the tank due to its size, unique armor, and bold look.
