The Yellow Flagtail Prochilodus (Semaprochilodus insignis) is a beautiful, active, and strong-swimming freshwater species found in the Amazon and Orinoco river basins. Recognized for its silver body, black vertical stripes, and striking yellow-and-black “flag-like” tail fin, this fish brings movement and color to large aquariums.

In the wild, they are migratory fish, often traveling in large schools. In captivity, they do best when kept in groups of 5 or more and require ample swimming space. They are hardy, adaptable, and often kept with other large South American fish in community setups.
