The Bumblebee Jelly Catfish is a small, nocturnal freshwater catfish native to South America, recognized for its distinctive yellow and black banding reminiscent of a bumblebee pattern. This peaceful bottom dweller is popular among aquarists for its unique appearance and shy behavior, making it a great addition to community tanks with gentle species.


🌊 Habitat & Care

  • Origin: South America (primarily the Amazon and Orinoco basins).
  • Tank Size: Minimum 20 gallons.
  • Water Conditions: Prefers soft to moderately hard water with a pH of 6.0–7.5 and temperature between 72–79°F (22–26°C).
  • Tank Setup: Provide plenty of hiding spots with driftwood, leaf litter, and plants; soft substrate recommended.

🍽️ Diet

  • Omnivorous — feeds on small invertebrates, sinking pellets, and occasional live or frozen foods such as bloodworms.
