The Six-Barred Lamprologus (Neolamprologus sexfasciatus) is a bold and beautiful African cichlid from Lake Tanganyika, recognized for its six distinct vertical dark bars over a golden-yellow to brownish body. This territorial species is a classic rock-dweller, spending much of its time patrolling caves and rocky territories.

Known for its aggressive nature and strong territorial instincts, the Six-Barred Lamprologus is best kept with other robust Tanganyikan cichlids in a rocky aquascape that allows for clearly defined territories.
