The Pati Catfish (Luciopimelodus pati) is a large, fast-swimming South American catfish native to the Paraná and Uruguay River basins. Known for its elongated, streamlined body and impressive size, this species is a favorite among large fish keepers and public aquariums. Its silvery-gray body, long barbels, and strong swimming ability make it a spectacular display fish in massive aquariums or indoor ponds.

In the wild, the Pati Catfish is a powerful predator and active swimmer, often traveling long distances. In captivity, it requires very large aquariums or ponds with strong filtration and plenty of open swimming space.
